PAPA SAYS "TO-DAY OUR SAVIOUR IS BORN"

Image
PAPA SAYS
"...remember your dignity, and now that you share in God’s own nature.."

"Dearly beloved, today our Saviour is born; let us rejoice. Sadness should have no place on the birthday of life. The fear of death has been swallowed up; life brings us joy with the promise of eternal happiness.
No one is shut out from this joy; all share the same reason for rejoicing. Our Lord, victor over sin and death, finding no man free from sin, came to free us all. Let the saint rejoice as he sees the palm of victory at hand. Let the sinner be glad as he receives the offer of forgiveness. Let the pagan take courage as he is summoned to life.

In the fullness of time, chosen in the unfathomable depths of God’s wisdom, the Son of God took for himself our common humanity in order to reconcile it with its creator. He came to overthrow the devil, the origin of death, in that very nature by which he had overthrown mankind.
And so at the birth of our Lord the angels sing in joy:Glory to God…

"GENDER " GERMAN BISHOP CRITICISES THE BISHOPS' CONFERENCE FLYER

Image
Regensburg, Germany, Dec 17, 2015 / 03:15 pm (CNA/EWTN News).- The Bishop of Regensburg spoke out against “gender theory” in a homily recently made available in English – chastising the German bishops' conference for presenting the idea “as being basically compatible with Catholic belief.” Celebrating the feast of St. Wolfgang, who was Bishop of Regensburg from 972 to 994, Bishop Rudolf Voderholzer taught in an Oct. 31 homily that gender theory – the idea of separating biological sex from gender – does not contribute to equality, and is ultimately a denial of nature and the goodness of creation. It puts at stake the essence of man and woman, denying their nature as potential fatherhood and motherhood. A bishop's pastoral ministry, he said, “includes the duty and the responsibility to act as a guardian, to raise his voice, as necessary, to draw attention to discrepancies or errors, however convenient or inconvenient this may be.” “Recently, just such a necessity has again arisen.”

PAPA SAYS DEALING WITH HERETICS WITH FIRMNESS AND WISDOM

Image
PAPA SAYS

POPE  SAINT LEO THE GREAT  is writing in a very highly complex situation, Pulcheria Augusta was Regent ,and then Empress of the Eastern Empire after the death of her younger brother the heir Theodosius. The diplomatic sensitivities are evident in item I, the letter is a masterpiece of moderation and firmness in the face of known heretics and a hyper sensitive Empress.

"
LETTER XCV: TO PULCHERIA AUGUSTA BY THE HAND OF THEOCTISTUS THE MAGISTRIAN[6].
Leo, the bishop to Pulcheria Augusta.
I. He informs the Empress that he has loyally recognized the Council ordered by her, and sent representatives with letters to it.
Your clemency's religious care which you unceasingly bestow on the catholic Faith, I recognize in everything, and give God thanks at seeing you take such interest in the universal Church, that I can confidently suggest what I think agreeable to justice and kindness, and so what thus far your pious zeal through the mercy of Christ has irreproachably accompl…

PAPA SAYS: THE ROYAL VIRGIN MARY

Image
PAPA SAYS :

A royal virgin of the house of David is chosen. She is to bear holy child, one who is both God and man. She is to conceive him in her soul before she conceives him in her body. In the face of so unheard of an event she is to know no fear through ignorance of the divine plan; the angel tells her what is to be accomplished in her by the Holy Spirit. She believes that there will be no loss of virginity, she who is soon to be the mother of God. Why should she lose heart at this new form of conceiving when she has been promised that it will be effected through the power of the Most High? She believes, and her faith is confirmed by the witness of a previous wonder: against all expectation Elizabeth is made fruitful. God has enabled a barren woman to be with child; he must be believed when he makes the same promise to a virgin.
The Son of God who was in the beginning with God, through whom all things were made, without whom nothing was made (Jn 1), became man to free him from etern…

A MODERN SITUATION - BACK IN THE DAY - 1829!

Image
PAPA SAYS :

" .....3. Although God may console Us with you, We are nonetheless sad. This is due to the numberless errors and the teachings of perverse doctrines which, no longer secretly and clandestinely but openly and vigorously, attack the Catholic faith. You know how evil men have raised the standard of revolt against religion through philosophy (of which they proclaim themselves doctors) and through empty fallacies devised according to natural reason. In the first place, the Roman See is assailed and the bonds of unity are, every day, being severed. The authority of the Church is weakened and the protectors of things sacred are snatched away and held in contempt. The holy precepts are despised, the celebration of divine offices is ridiculed, and the worship of God is cursed by the sinner.[1] All things which concern religion are relegated to the fables of old women and the superstitions of priests. Truly lions have roared in Israel.[2] With tears We say: "Truly they have…

ETERNAL GLORY WON IN THE MIDST OF INFAMY

Image
THE "DAY THAT WILL LIVE IN INFAMY"
A day on which we remember a heroic young Catholic Priest who gave his life acting in Persona Christi just 74 years ago to-day, and pray for his intercession on behalf of our present day Priests.

"Haec Dies"...This is the day, but unlike the prayer which goes on "..which the Lord has made...", this is the day , the anniversary of the day,  "which will live in infamy". For to-day is the 74th  Anniversary of the cowardly Japanese attack on Pearl Harbour which began the War in the Pacific.  7th December, 1941 was  a Sunday.

Father Aloysius Schmitt was a 32 yrs old Catholic Priest, serving in the United States Navy as a Chaplain with the rank of Lieutenant(JG) -Junior Grade. He served on one of the United States Navy's Pacific Fleet Battleships - U.S.S. OKLAHOMA . Sunday morning had dawned beautifully at his Pacific island base.Father's day began like any other in his recently-commenced Naval career as Chaplai…

THE WAY ARROGANT PEOPLE TEACH

Image
PAPA SAYS: "It is characteristic of the way that arrogant people teach, that they do not know how to convey their knowledge humbly and cannot express straightforward truths straightforwardly. When they teach, it is clear from their words that they are placing themselves on a pinnacle and looking down on their pupils somewhere in the depths – pupils unworthy to be informed and scarcely even worth the bother of dominating. The Lord rightly admonished such people through the mouth of the prophet Ezekiel, saying You have ruled your flock cruelly and with violence. For they rule with cruelty and violence when they do not try to correct those under them with rational arguments but try to dominate them and crush them.
On the other hand, sound teaching is eager to avoid this sin of pride manifested in thought: just as eager as it is to attack with words the teacher of pride himself. Sound teaching does not promote him by imitating his arrogance but uses pious words to attack him in its hear…

SURE YOU KNOW WHAT IT MEANS?

Image
The familiarity of so much of the Sacred Scripture we hear in the Gospels and Readings at Mass, can tend to put our minds into a kind of "cruise control" mode. In this way many very familiar phrases never get particular attention. This is even more the case when they are never preached upon.

Consider Our Lord's Incarnation, Public Life, Death and Resurrection. His purpose was to effect our Eternal Salvation:

"37 Pilate said to him, “So you are a king?” Jesus answered, “You say that I am a king. For this I was born, and for this I have come into the world, to bear witness to the truth. Every one who is of the truth hears my voice.” John 18:37 RSVCE

To set about this Divine Purpose without infringing man's freewill it was necessary to gradually open  mens' minds to the Truth about His Divinity in a manner that would allow the message to spread as widely as possible before , inevitably, man sought His Death. And it would necessitate leaving behind Him an organisat…
